What a lovely weekend in a fabulous cottage. I really don't think I can add much to all the other wonderful reviews. It really has everything... Comfortable, spotless, log fire, sunny courtyard, well equipped and in a perfect tranquil location with lots of places to walk nearby. Ideal if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everything. Thank you Sophie, we hope to return again soon.

This is our 2nd stay at this lovely house, and we couldn’t wait to come back. Sophie is lovely to deal with and nothing is too much trouble, especially when we locked ourselves out, everything was sorted in no time. The area has fantastic walks and Llandovery has lovely places to eat plus the cafe at Myddfai community centre is well worth a visit -their soup is tasty and just what you need after a long walk. The house and Myddfai is a great place to come and absolutely chill, with the added bonus of a fantastic log fire and a bed that is soooo comfortable you sleep like a log. We come here and completely recharge our batteries. Look forward to returning in 2024.

Lovely to be back again if only for 4 nights. House is lovely and great breakfast basket left for us - thank you. It’s comfortable and clean and the fire makes it so homely. The only commute you hear in the morning is the tractors. Loved watching all the birds in the courtyard. The Lady of the Lake is a great walk and we did Halfway forest , Usk reservoir and Trecastle for the antiques. So much more to do and discover that we will be back again and hopefully for longer . Thank you so much Sophie for sharing this beautiful home.

We had a very comfortable stay at Llangoedmor House. The welcome pack was a nice touch, thank you. The kitchen was well equipped for self catering, we had a candle lit dinner for our 42nd wedding anniversary. The bed was comfy, and we slept in most mornings, until Sweep our cocker spaniel came to wake us up. We found the information pack very helpful for local walks, and the village hall was a great place to meet the locals. The pubs in Llandovery were all dog friendly, our favorite was Kings Head for food and drink. Would we stay again? ........yes please.

We spent a wonderful family holiday at Llangoedmor House. The house itself is gorgeous: spacious, beautifully decorated and so clean on arrival. The facilities in the house are great and we wanted for nothing. The village itself is very quiet and peaceful with numerous walks from the door. There is a community hall/information center in the village which has a lovely café with outside seating and even serves alcohol! There is so much to do in the surrounding area, local walks, epic walks with stunning views, beaches (Llansteffan was superb) we could’ve easily filled 2 weeks. There is a decent co-op in Llandovery for all your supplies. Don’t hesitate to try this gem of a house, you won’t regret it.

Yet again another amazing stay!! The attention to detail goes a long way, the property is lovely and clean throughout, has all the amenities and more you’ll need, and is the perfect base for exploring beautiful Wales.
We love it here, and already planning our next stay.
Thank you for having us!

Wow, the cottage was amazing. We booked to stay here for our honeymoon. When we arrived Sophie had left us some welcome items eggs, milk etc. This included a bottle of champagne 🍾. The cottage was spotless inside and out, the area it's in just as lovely. It's so peaceful and just what we needed. The village hall/community hub has a fab cafe and very friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you Sophie and team.

We really enjoyed our stay this week at Llangoedmor House. We have found all what we expected: lovely house, with warm atmosphere thanks to the wood burner, relax thanks to the balneo bathtub, lovely community, quiet and beautiful country side, hiking around the famous Llyn y Fan Fach and Fawr lakes. And even we crossed on the road with our car Prince Charles driving his car, what a surprise! And finally, thanks Sophie for the welcome food we have found when we arrived.

A lovely week in a lovely house. So rare to find a holiday let with such generous living space - plenty for 4 adults to comfortably sit around the fire and a huge dining table. The welcome basket of bread, jam, bacon, milk & OJ was an unexpected bonus. The beds are really comfortable, the house is well heated (even better for the sitting room woodburner in December), the shower powerful, a garden hose to clean the dogs and muddy boots. The surrounding countryside is wonderful to walk through, with several woodland walks where the dogs could go off-lead without worrying about livestock. We would happily return.

Just returned home after a perfect week away at Llangoedmor House -such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.
Lovely breakfast hamper on arrival and really enjoyed it. The house was perfect in every way - rooms were well sized and laid out very well. Waking up to the birds feeding in the courtyard was lovely. The log burner was well-used and we really enjoyed it, so much so we're are going to fit one ourselves as soon as possible. We walked quite a lot, taking most routes identified by Sophie and met some very nice local people all of whom passed on their knowledge of Myddfai.

We really enjoyed our stay and will be staying again if possible.

Had a fantastic weeks stay in such a lovely cottage, wood burner was cozy.
Managed to fit in a couple of the well mapped out walks with our old staffy & he loved it, great views, the local visitors centre is well worth a visit, lovely cream teas & as end of the month we made the farmers market with local produce.
Thanks again Sophie.

Llangoedmor House is the ideal place to stay. Perfectly located for the mountains, river walks, and west Wales’ stunning beaches, it’s a real home from home made all the more homely thanks to Sophie’s attention to detail and little touches. A beautiful house in an idyllic location, what more is there to say?

Just had a wonderful holiday in Myddfai, in Sophie’s cottage. Would definitely recommend staying there, the cottage is a home from home. Additionally, the locals are so welcoming, even invited us to watch a local wedding, first one for 14 years in the village, so quite an event for them all. Lots to see and do, we ran out of time!!

We have just returned from a very relaxing 3 night stay at Llangoedmor House. We really felt at home, because everything we needed was supplied. We loved the log fire, the comfy bed and the bread, milk, eggs and mini jams, which Sophie left on the table. Delicious. 👍 The community centre was closed due to lockdown but we visited the beautiful church, where Prince Charles attends services, when he is staying at his estate. Llandovery and Llandeilo are very interesting towns and close to the cottage. It was too cold to have a meal outside, so we bought takeaways in Llandovery and brought them back to the cottage. They were still hot and no washing up to do.😀 Seren, our Schnauzer, enjoyed the nearby walks and was fascinated by the birds in the enclosed garden. Thank you for making our short stay such a wonderful experience. We cannot recommend it highly enough and hope to return in the Autumn.
Best wishes

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Llangoedmor House. The house is cosy and stylish and the area is just beautiful. A short car journey takes you to local villages with lots to do, lovely walks and shops and pubs. The host was easy to contact and very helpful. If you are looking for a relaxing staycation with a log fire, country views and super comfy beds then this is the place for you!

A great place to stay to explore this part of Wales. The cottage was perfect with everything you need to enjoy some time in this area. There is so much to see and do, lots of places to explore with our 2 dogs. Llandovery and Llandeilo are close by with lots to see and do. Pubs are dog friendly with a good selection of food. No issues with social distancing or people being aware of the need for Covid awareness. The cottage had all amenities you need, the wood burner and the smart TV made it very easy to spend cozy evenings in the living room. I would definitely recommend Llangoedmor house to friends and family.

Just came back from a week's stay. The cottage is absolutely beautiful with everything that you would need. The locals are all so friendly, and the scenery is outstanding. Wales is so beautiful and green!! We used this holiday just as a complete wind down before work starts again next week.
As my father can’t walk far we visited many towns near by and a few castles. We had a log fire on two evenings. The courtyard is perfect for dogs, being fully enclosed you never have to worry about them. This place is a real home from home - 5*

We had a lovely week staying in Llangoedmor House. The little courtyard was great for enjoying a meal outside, and the boys loved zooming around the table on their scooters! We were a family of four adults, two children and two dogs and despite this, it didn't feel a squash as the main bedrooms were surprisingly spacious and the dining room table was very large. A great little holiday house which we would recommend to others.

Had a lovely week in this beautiful cottage in a stunning area of the Brecon Beacons. We found the cottage to be quite central and didn’t take long to get anywhere. The cottage was comfy and cosy and the scones on arrival were lovely, the kitchen was well equipped. Will definitely book again hopefully in warmer months 😁

This cottage is amazing - it has everything you could possibly need. Beds are super comfy, log burner is great when it’s cold outside, kitchen is new and shiny with everything you need and Sophie is fantastic to deal with from initial enquiry right through to after you have checked out and back at home.
Highly recommend for a rural country break.

We haven’t even gone home yet but felt the need to write a review. It’s been great. No other words needed. Sophie has been helpful from start to finish and the cottage is beautiful. We are just gutted we can’t stay any longer. Highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a relaxing break in a beautiful cottage in an amazing part of Wales.

We’ve just got home from the most relaxing weekend and I miss this place already.

The cottage is beautiful, full of anything you could possible need with gorgeous antique pieces without being cluttered. It also benefitted from some modern luxuries like a jacuzzi bath and Nespresso machine.

Sophie could not make you feel any more welcome - from arranging the weekend, to going into some little personal treats to checking in whilst you’re there.

The visitor centre close by is brilliant, such a gem for a little village. Everyone there and neighbours made us feel so welcome, we didn’t go out without someone saying a quick hello or stopping for a chat.

I have two dogs, one a real nervous rescue and this place was perfect for her. She was safe and relaxed which meant I actually felt like I was on holiday, too. So many great walks from the doorstep. We didn’t take anything with us and normally holiday lets are somewhere to sleep but we ended up going into Llandovery for a big shop so we could spend more time at the cottage enjoying it. Perfect for cosy nights.

Would absolutely love to go back!!

It’s our last day of a week stay at this beautiful cottage and we are already feeling sad we have to leave. The cottage it wonderful, everything we needed for a relaxing stay and the courtyard garden was great for our pooches. I asked loads of questions before and during the stay and replies were always quick and helpful. There are some lovely walks in the area and it’s a great place to unwind and get away from busy lives. I would not hesitate to come back here, thank you Sophie for letting us into your slice of heaven

Back from a 4 night stay in this wonderfully welcoming, warm and cosy cottage. Just perfect for me, my husband, and our 3 Flatcoated retrievers. Lovely base to explore the area from, Usk reservoir is a must with the dogs, beautiful woodland walk around the outside, Llyn y Fan Fach is just breathtaking though dogs need to stay on lead due to sheep. Dryslwyn castle fabulous views, Dinefwr castle and woods was amazing, again with incredible views from the top of turrets. Tally Abbey lakes. If you fly fish then Garnffrwd lake is worth a visit, the cafe, great food and dog friendly. Myddfai cafe excellent. After a long day out with the dogs walking and swimming nothing better than coming back to the warm cottage, the whirlpool bath with a glass of bubbles and the oh so comfy, never slept so well, huge double bed. Thank you Sophie and family! Oh and fell in love with the Myddfai trading company toiletries too.

Me, my husband and Ruby the spaniel have just returned from a weekend at this very lovely home. Sophie was prompt and easy to deal with in all of our communications from the moment I enquired about availability to the end of our stay. The house is exactly as you see on the website. Homely, spacious and beautifully decorated in keeping with its age and style. It's warm, comfortable and has everything you are likely to need for your stay. We responded to Sophie's book direct offer so were welcomed with a hamper of Welsh bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato and fresh bread and jams. The wood burner was ready to be lit for cosy nights in. The house is ideally located for exploring the Brecon Beacons, the village is peaceful and the nearby town has a selection of shops and pubs/cafes. Unfortunately we didn't get to the visitors centre around the corner but as we are planning to book another stay we shall be sure to on our next visit.

Our family consisting of my husband (64) myself (58) daughter (25) her partner (24) English Springer Spaniel (2) and King Charles Cavalier (8) were warmly welcomed on Sunday with a spotlessly clean, spacious home, fresh local eggs and a loaf of crusty bread, with logs loaded ready for the log burner to be lit.
We’ve been on fabulous walks, local people are extremely friendly. Next door is a visitors centre where a full English breakfast has started our days. We’re disappointed to be leaving tomorrow and would 100% recommend you visit. Sophie is so easy to deal with which makes bookings and information a dream.

We used this lovely cottage as the base for my son's wedding at Ty Talcen just round the corner. We also hosted the bride and bridesmaids' preparations on the day. Beautiful cottage, brilliant venue, superb staff at the Hall and no rain - what more could we ask for (other than time to try the whirlpool bath :-) ).

We first stayed at Llangoedmor House in June of this year, we loved it so much we couldn’t wait to come back so here we are. It’s still a great place to stay the cottage is lovely, we felt at home the minute we walked through the door. It’s very welcoming - a great place to relax - we couldn’t wish for anything more. We were more than happy to stay in when it rained! Myddfai is so peaceful and quiet all you can hear is birdsong, we enjoyed watching the Blue Tits, Robins and Sparrows feeding from the feeders in the garden. Most days we popped to the Visitor’s Centre just around the corner either for breakfast, lunch or just a coffee all of which are excellent. I also got lots of opportunities to look in the adjoining shop selling lots of local crafts and to spend my husband's money! I also spent some in Llandovery - one of my favourite shops is Cibola. It has a huge range of unique gifts and things for the home. What more can we say except a huge thank you to Sophie and family for making sure we have everything we need and sharing your beautiful home with us.
Very best wishes for Christmas and New Year can’t wait to come back again next year.

Lovely week's stay in Llangoedmor House. Well equipped with very good heating (we had a few minus degrees in the mornings !). Lovely bedrooms and soft fluffy towels ! Excellent visitor centre/cafe round the corner that let us bring the dogs in so we could enjoy coffee and cake, we also went to the monthly farmers market here. Myddfai is well positioned for lots of good days out and we also drove the the coast and the wonderful Rhossili beach.

We have just returned from a glorious weekend at Llangoedmor House. The village is beautiful and peaceful, and you'll find a lovely tearoom at the visitors centre just around the corner. The nearby views are truly stunning. The cottage is well planned, cosy and homely, and the thoughtful details and added extras shows the care and attention the owners, Sophie and Ben put into making sure each guest feels welcome and spoilt. Thankyou so much xxx
